ROME, June 30, 2025 – A piece of infrastructure designed to serve the most advanced audiovisual productions, built with a strong emphasis on environmental sustainability: this is the new “T19” sound stage inside the historic Cinecittà studios in Rome, Italy. The project was completed by NBI, a Webuild Group subsidiary.
Italian Minister of Culture Alessandro Giuli visited the studio to mark the completion of its construction – on schedule. This new space represents a strategic element in the relaunch of the Italian film industry and stands as a tangible example of innovation applied to cultural heritage.
Commissioned by Cinecittà S.p.A., the studio provides 1,370 square metres of space to be used by the audiovisual industry, including the 870-square-metre sound stage and an additional 500 square metres for support services.
The project was developed using Building Information Modeling (BIM), a digital approach that allows for integrated management of the asset’s entire life cycle — from design to long-term maintenance.
Particular attention was paid to temperature and water management, circular economy principles, and a minimal impact on the environment. The studio integrates highly efficient energy systems, and plant installations powered by renewable energy sources, significantly reducing electricity consumption.
The “T19” sound stage represents another step in the sustainable transformation of Italy’s infrastructure in the audiovisual industry, contributing to the relaunch of film production in the country. For Webuild and NBI, it is yet another demonstration of the Group’s technical expertise and commitment to innovation that serves to enhance culture.
